Joint Rehabilitation is used to treat a wide range of conditions and is applicable to many different types of cases. Using a long list of exercises, range of motion practices, and the right equipment, we are able to accommodate people fresh out of knee surgery, someone struggling with chronic shoulder pain, and much more.
During Joint Therapy, the first thing you’ll experience is a joint examination with Dr. Karp. He will examine your troubled joint in order to identify what the exact issue is. From there he will work with you to put together a personalized recovery and/or treatment plan. For example, if the issue is recovering from a surgery on the wrist, you will be guided through a number of strengthening and mobility exercises. In order to reduce inflammation and scarring, you may also be put on a nutrition plan and pain laser package to avoid the use of medication and further surgery.
During Joint Rehabilitation you can expect to use many different types of equipment, ranging from dumbbells, to pain lasers, and everything in between. The equipment you use is dependent upon the condition you are having treated. For strength, you may use dumbbells and resistance bands. For mobility, you may just use body weight. For scarring and inflammation, you could be steered towards an anti-inflammatory diet or a pain laser package.
